IEEE SAS 2026: Call for Special Sessions
The IEEE SAS 2026 invites professionals and researchers in the area of Sensors and Sensors Applications to propose Special Sessions. The proposal should include a two-page (maximum) description of the Special Session (see below for details) and a short biography of the Special Session Organizers that highlight their qualifications and track records in the proposed subject area of the Special Session.
Organization of Special Sessions
Once a Special Session is approved, it is the duty of the organizers to publicize the Special Session among researchers and practitioners in the field and attract a sufficient number of papers. The presence of at least one Special Session organizer, who will act as a Special Session Chair, is necessary. Papers submitted to Special Sessions will undergo the same review process as regular papers.
Before starting the review process, Special Session organizers must explicitly declare papers that present a conflict of interest for them. A conflict of interest arises when the judgment of a paper quality can be influenced by the organizers being authors or knowing some of them.
A minimum of four accepted papers with authors from at least three independent institutions is required for each Special Session. If a Special Session consists of insufficient papers, accepted papers will be allocated to regular sessions wherever possible. If more papers are accepted than the maximum number of timeslots for the session, then some session papers may be moved to the poster session.
Special Sessions may include an optional invited speaker. The invited speaker may, but does not have to, submit an accompanied paper. In the case that a paper is submitted, it needs to go through the same peer-review process as any other paper. Invited speakers will only be formally invited if the Special Session had been approved.
Deadline to submit: November 24, 2025
